Essential Environmental gathered up all the esprit de corps it could muster to ‘represent’ at the annual UDIA Crackerjack lawn bowls championship, held at the Doubleview Lawn Bowls Club last week.
With Shelley absent in body but not spirit due to a flurry of meetings requiring her presence in Broome, the three remaining essential musketeers made every effort to dominate the Green. Or more realistically, to get their lawn balls within 2 m of the jack without having them cross over into games being played out in other lanes.
While the essential team did not get into the finals (taking out only one of their three games), they found success in obtaining their own personal bowl of hot chips which sustained them during the intense competitions. Sometimes it’s the small (and tasty) things that count.
